Meat production might be a sensitive subject for some. However, in line with Hatching Network’s transparency ideology, this difficult subject should be addressed openly.
The Farm’s on-site abattoir is a fully operating, transparent dispatching service and a training centre for chicken keepers. With the belief that killing of animals has to be done in the most humane and respectful way possible, the Farm’s abattoir employs the latest, research-based methods for killing.
It is used for a small-scale meat production from the farm’s or members’ chickens. Although the farm’s chickens are kept mainly for their eggs, meat will be produced upon special request. Please check availability in advance via the Farm Shop.
